Privacy at Inner Sky
Inner Sky is a reflective app that blends astrology, tarot, archetypes, stories and a conversational guide. Much of what you share here is personal: your birth details, your answers to the intake questions, your journal writing and your conversations with the guide. We treat it that way.
This policy explains what Inner Sky collects, why, who helps us run the app, and the choices you have. Inner Sky is run by Archetypal Sky LLC, a Colorado company ("we", "us"). Questions: hello@archetypalsky.com.
The short version
- We collect what you give us and what the app needs to work. We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising or ad trackers.
- Your journals, map and conversations are private to you. Inner Sky's hosts can't read them in the app, and other members never see them. If you choose to connect with someone, they see only your first name, birth details and chart.
- To write readings and replies, the app sends the relevant parts of your information to our AI provider. Those requests aren't used to train AI models.
- You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time.
- News emails are optional and off unless you turn them on.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address, which you use to sign in with a one-time code. No passwords.
Your chart. Your first name, birth date, birth time (if you know it) and birth place, plus the place's coordinates and time zone, which the app looks up to calculate your chart.
What you write and choose in the app. This can include your answers to the short intake (for example, the old stories, protectors and patterns you describe); the Shadow Path (your map, session writing, check-ins and the statements you save); your moon journal, numbers you've noticed and what was on your mind; tarot pulls, readings and archetype results; your conversations with the guide in Talk; and the themes the guide notices in your writing over time (you can see, correct, turn off or delete these on the Chart tab).
Some of this can touch on your mental and emotional health. You choose what to share; nothing in the app requires you to describe painful experiences.
People you add. If you add someone yourself on the People tab, we store the name, relationship and birth details you enter for them, so the app can draw their chart and compare it with yours. By adding someone, you confirm that you have their permission or can't ask them (for example, they've died or you're no longer in touch), and you're responsible for that. We don't tell them. Those details stay private to you and go to our AI provider only if you ask for a reading or talk about them. You can edit or remove them at any time. Connecting: if you and another member both agree, by a one-time link one of you sends and the other accepts, each of you sees the other's first name, birth date, birth time and birth place, their chart, and how your charts meet. Nothing else is shared: journals, answers, maps, readings and conversations stay private. Either of you can end a connection at any time without the other being told. Ending it stops the sharing and deletes both people's saved readings about each other; each device clears its related conversation the next time the app opens.
Feedback you send through the Feedback button, along with which page you were on and your type of device and browser, so we can fix problems.
How the app is used. For each AI request we record the kind of request, which model answered and how much it cost to run, so we can keep the app affordable. We don't record the content of your requests in these logs.
Invitations. Who invited you or which sign-up link you used, whether you've joined, and your version (free or full).
On your device. The app keeps a few conveniences in your browser's local storage (for example, your place in a story, your reading speed, and recently written readings, so they load quickly). These stay on your device.
We don't collect your contacts, your precise location, or your phone's microphone recordings. When you talk to the guide by voice, your phone turns speech into text on the device or through your phone's own speech service; Inner Sky receives only the text.
How we use it
- To run the app: calculate your chart, show your readings, save your writing and let you sign in.
- To write AI readings and replies that reflect your chart and what you've shared.
- To read text aloud in Inner Sky's voices.
- To answer feedback and fix problems.
- To manage invitations and the free and full versions.
- To send occasional news, only if you've said yes.
We don't sell or rent your information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
Who helps us run Inner Sky
We use a small number of service providers. They process information only to provide their service to us.
- Supabase (USA): database and sign-in. Receives your account and everything you save in the app.
- Railway (USA): runs the app's server and its voice service. Requests pass through the server; the voice service turns text into speech and doesn't keep the text.
- Anthropic (USA): the AI (Claude) that writes readings and replies. Receives the parts of your chart, answers and writing needed for that reading or reply. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data isn't used to train its models; Anthropic may keep it for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring, as described in its policies.
- Resend (USA): sends sign-in codes and forwards feedback to us. Receives your email address and, for feedback, your note.
- Kit (USA): news emails, only if you opt in. Receives your email address and first name.
- jsDelivr (content network): delivers standard code libraries the app uses. Receives the ordinary technical information any website request includes, such as your IP address.
- Webflow (USA): hosts this website. Receives the ordinary technical information any website visit includes.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or if Inner Sky is transferred to a new owner, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
Inner Sky is not therapy
Inner Sky is for reflection and self-understanding. It isn't therapy, medical care, or a crisis service, and its guide is an AI, not a person. Using Inner Sky doesn't create a therapist-client relationship, and the information you share here isn't a health record.
If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US) or call 911 in an emergency.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your information. Most of it is visible and editable in the app (your chart details, writing, map, People, noticed themes).
- Turn off the guide's noticing at any time on the Chart tab, and delete any theme it has noticed.
- News emails: say yes or no on the Talk tab at any time, or use the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Website sign-ups: if you leave your email on our website for first access, we keep your email address, your first name if you give it, and when you signed up. We use them only to tell you when Inner Sky opens and to send occasional letters, and our email service (Kit) receives the same details. Use the unsubscribe link in any letter, or write to hello@archetypalsky.com to be removed.
- Delete your account. Email hello@archetypalsky.com from your account's address and we'll delete your account and everything stored with it within 30 days.
- Get a copy of your information. Email us and we'll send it to you.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of certain uses. Colorado residents have these rights under the Colorado Privacy Act. We don't sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising or for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. To make a request, email hello@archetypalsky.com. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your information from the live database within 30 days; copies in backups are removed as those backups expire. We may keep minimal records where the law requires it (for example, a record that you unsubscribed). Usage cost records, without content, may be kept in aggregate.
Security
Your information is stored with access rules so that only you can read your own entries, apart from the first name and birth details you choose to share by connecting with someone; it's encrypted in transit, and our providers encrypt stored data. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Age
Inner Sky is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we'll delete it.
Beta
Inner Sky is in an early test. Features, and this policy, may change as we learn. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
